Please accept our heartfelt thanks for the scholarship money for our daughter’s care in the Child Center program – it was an answer to our prayers. The extra ten days made an amazing difference in what we learned about her and allowed the staff to get her to a therapeutic level with her new medication. When your child is so sick – emotionally – you feel so helpless. Our daughter’s time at Rogers has truly turned her life around and transformed our family. It is hard to express in words how much of a gift her last ten days were at the hospital. Thank you for providing that for her and for us. ~ From a hopeful parent

I began treatment 4 weeks ago and was instantly amazed with the care and capabilities of the treatment team. I finally felt like I was understood and at the right place to recover from my disorder. Although I knew I could benefit from this program, my insurance did not cover nearly as many days as I needed to find myself and the strength and skills I needed to fight my battle. Luckily my therapist saw my dedication and drive and nominated me for this scholarship. I wanted to tell you how thankful and how much it means for me to get this financial support.

I have had three hospitalizations prior to my stay at Rogers Hospital. I can’t tell you how grateful and inspiring and educational this has been for me. I see why Rogers is a top hospital system in the nation. You have lessened my fears, understood my illness and made me more accepting of it. Also, whatever you are getting paid, it’s not enough!

My son recently arrived home after participating in Rogers' male eating disorders program for 8 weeks. The change is remarkable – he came home a happy, healthy and beaming teenager. He was transformed! I want to express my deepest gratitude to Rogers and specifically his therapist. He had the exceptional ability to reach my son in his darkest place. It takes an extraordinary person to breathe life back and resuscitate someone as emotionally sick as my son. We feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to offer our son the program from Rogers, and that he was blessed with such great care. ~ From a parent

I recently celebrated four years of recovery from bulimia and four years of sobriety! Thank you for your help and support four years ago when I spent 3 months in your care. I am doing well, living in St. Paul and teaching private music lesions. I got to spend 4 weeks in New Zealand visiting my sister and did lots of camping and hiking. The highlight for me was the Tongarino-Alpine Crossing. It was the most beautiful stunning hike I have ever done. I am telling you this because I would have never been able to do with if I was using eating disorder symptoms or drinking. I feel healthy and strong and am growing more and more comfortable in my own skin. Thank you for helping me to learn to how to eat healthy, how to treat my body kindly and how to live life without using. I am so grateful for my recovery! ~ From a patient

The lost children we help at Milwaukee’s Child & Adolescent Day Treatment Program are the ones that remind us why we come to work each day. Treating children with a variety of mental health illnesses is a demanding stressful job. Your heart aches every time you hear stories of domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse and sexual exploitation that occur in homes. When Anna (not her real name) arrived at our treatment center at the age of 4, she was undoubtedly the youngest and saddest child I’ve seen, exhibiting so many violent and inappropriate behaviors. After four months of intensive treatment, the staff has seen Anna make a remarkable transition. She is now able to experience normal four year kid activities and prances around the unit with her bright smile. She was discharged from treatment, has started kindergarten and will be adopted by her foster parents in the near future. ~ Dr. Jody Pahlavan, Director, Child & Adolescent Day Treatment Program

Our son was so excited about the opportunity to be a counselor in training that he couldn’t sleep the night before Challenge Camp started! He loves camp and looks forward to coming every year. Thank you for making this one-of-a-kind opportunity more affordable for our family! ~ From a grateful parent

Thank you for letting me come to Challenge Camp. Your scholarship money allowed me to come to your camp. I have ADHD and the camp counselors helped me to be more social in the group. I really enjoyed biking on the trail and the waterpark. I enjoyed helping the younger groups. ~ From a camper
